Geode Half

What is the average price for a small piece of citrine?
I’m looking for a piece of citrine and every piece I’ve seen online is ridiculously expensive for the size. I would prefer an untumbled piece because I love the look, but one that is at least 1in^3. Anyway, I’ve purchased a piece of an amethyst geode from a natural history museum at $2.50 that is about 2in^3…which seems reasonable to me. Is citrine just more expensive?
I also have a half geode at 4x5x3in^3 in a deep aquamarine with a white cavern that I got for about $15, I’m not sure of the stone or if it was dyed, but the way it sparkles in the center (like untouched snow) it seems would make it a find.
lol, needless to say, in addition to knowing average pricing on citrines, a guide to gem prices would greatly benefit me ^_^
I have a small collection of gemstones and rocks, but I would like to expand it.
I have a nice piece of citrine (good color but smaller crystals) that I got for like $20. The best thing to do is to shop around, some of the best places are simple mom and pop type stores run by an avid collector.
Obviously museum quality samples are extremely expensive, but you can usually get lower quality specimen samples for much less. Just shop around in your area.
